2. What's the best thing about working for the Gill Group?
The fact that I am trusted to run my department and make changes as I see necessary. 

3. What has been your fondest memory during your time at the Gill Group?
The first charity Curry Lunch which helped cement Cello moving into Gill House.

4. What have you learned during your time with the Gill Group and how has it helped you develop as a professional? 
It is always a lesson seeing how another established company functions, making best use of their existing practices and being supported by colleagues when implanting new ones.

Seeing the desire to succeed in all aspects of the group and Mr. Gill's open-minded attitude to any potential business ventures. It gives me an individual desire to prove we're as, if not more successful than all other divisions of the Group.

My journey with the Gill Group began in August 2017 at Discount Builders Merchants Tipton.

2. What's the best thing about working for the Gill Group?
The best part about working for the Gill Group is meeting a great supportive team and the interaction with the customers.

3. What has been your fondest memory during your time at the Gill Group?
My fondest memory so far would be the Christmas and Charity dress up.

4. What have you learned during your time with the Gill Group and how has it helped you develop as a professional? 
Within the 8 months of working at Discount Builders Merchants, I have learned to work with an experienced team that has helped me grow in the business as well as in confidence. Working in a customer service role I am always learning new products and ideas.

Miriam Hunter

1. When did your journey with the Gill Group Begin?
My Journey started with the Gill Group in June 2015 and I must say taking this career step was the best one for me.

2. What's the best thing about working for the Gill Group?
The values of the company are in line with my own which has made it an extremely enjoyable place to work. With a range of companies, no two days are the same I would have to say the best thing about working for The Gill Group is that my knowledge has expanded beyond just general HR.

3. What has been your fondest memory during your time at the Gill Group?
My fondest memory currently is taking part in all the team building games that took place before the winter shutdown period.

4. What have you learned during your time with the Gill Group and how has it helped you develop as a professional? 
I can honestly say my position has given me great exposure to the Aviation, Insurance, Builders Materials, Plant Hire, Concrete and Civil Engineering industries. I have learned that working hard truly pays off and as long as you are determined, the company will support you through your career journey. I am now working towards my CIPD level 7 qualification which will help me to progress to the next level within the company.

1. When did your journey with the Gill Group Begin?
I had been a supplier to the Gill Group for at least 3 years before actually coming to work here in October 2017. Having worked with Titan and Britannia on a few projects in the last few years I knew when the opportunity arose to be apart of the team I couldn’t turn it down.

2. What's the best thing about working for the Gill Group?
Being apart of a close-knit team whilst being able to work on multiple projects of all different shapes and sizes.

3. What has been your fondest memory during your time at the Gill Group?
My first project and joint venture with Gill Civil Engineering, working as Britannia Onsite Concrete, was East Midlands Airport Taxiway Quebec bay replacement. The operations manager of our client’s site approached me at the end of the project and thanked me and the team for the work carried out, told me how he was very impressed with our set up and the way we work. Being able to go back to my team and colleagues and give them that feedback was a brilliant feeling.

4. What have you learned during your time with the Gill Group and how has it helped you develop as a professional? 
I would like to think I have developed every aspect of my skillset during my short tenure so far because I have absolutely been given the opportunity to. I have never had to be so adaptable and diverse in a job role before, which is why I love it so much. Being able to work with multiple companies and disciplines within the same group and collaborate at every level is both a learning curve and huge advantage to any individual.

2. What's the best thing about working for the Gill Group?
Being allowed to develop the management system in order for it to be more user-friendly and beneficial for all staff. The cooperation and willingness of the staff to assist in this development.

3. What has been your fondest memory during your time at the Gill Group?
Being given a warm welcome on day 1.

4. What have you learned during your time with the Gill Group and how has it helped you develop as a professional? 
Getting to understand what the group does and how it works. I am enjoying utilising my skills and techniques which were restricted during my previous role.

3. What has been your fondest memory during your time at the Gill Group?
During my time at the Gill Group I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of many events such as our Bowling nights, Christmas lunch, Curry day, my visit to the Air Charter Expo with Cello, getting to see how we process and lay concrete at Manchester Airport, the EDF Power Plant at Hinkley Point with Gill Civil and of course looking after Monte and Carlo on Puppy day!

4. What have you learned during your time with the Gill Group and how has it helped you develop as a professional? 
I’ve learned how to adapt my approach to marketing to best suit all the companies in our group. We have a very diverse group of companies all under one roof. I feel this has helped prepare me to take on any marketing challenge thrown my way as having worked with different personalities during my time here has helped me better understand the philosophy behind each respective business.
